PRIVACY POLICY

The Yoshimoto Kogyo Group aims to realize a society full of “smiles” and “laughter,” and is working hard to provide “laughter”-based, high quality entertainment to our customers. We would like to carefully and properly use the personal information we receive from our customers to achieve our corporate philosophy. The Yoshimoto Kogyo Group has set forth the following Privacy Policy, as well as established personal information protection regulations and other internal policies. We have also established an internal system for personal information protection, which includes sufficiently training our officers and employees regarding the laws, regulations, and aforementioned internal policies, and will do our best to properly handle our customers’ personal information.

1. Applicable scope

This Privacy Policy applies to all of the services of the Yoshimoto Kogyo Group (the “Company Group”; for details, please refer to http://www.yoshimoto.co.jp/corp/info/group.html), unless an independent privacy policy has already been provided by a Company Group company.

2. Personal information of our customers

Personal information means the name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, individual identification number for mobile phones (UID), member ID, and other information concerning an individual, with which, or in combination with other information, the individual customer can be identified.

3. Acquisition of personal information

Our customers’ personal information will be acquired by lawful and fair means.

4. Purpose of use of personal information

We will acquire and use our customers’ personal information for the following purposes:

  • (a) to provide information regarding Company Group-affiliated talents;
  • (b) to provide information regarding programs, various events, performances, shows, campaigns, and other events related to the Company Group;
  • (c) to provide ticket sales services for theaters and performances, and to send the tickets;
  • (d) to provide goods, DVDs, CDs and other products relating to the Company Group and Company Group-affiliated talents, and to send such products;
  • (e) to carry out surveys intended to improve the quality of services handled by the Company Group, and to have our customers participate in group interviews;
  • (f) to conduct identity verification or personal identification of users, including for logging into services for members that are provided by the Company Group, if necessary;
  • (g) to provide or communicate regarding services incidental to or in connection with (a) to (f) above; and
  • (h) to respond to inquiries, requests and other communications from our customers.

5. Management of personal information

The Company Group has placed a personal information officer in each department that provides various products and services that handle personal information. We are also properly and safely managing the personal information that has been acquired, and are giving utmost care to the prevention of any leak, loss, falsification or otherwise of such personal information. In addition, we will properly dispose of any personal information for which the required period has passed for achieving the purposes of use.

6. Disclosure and provision to third parties

The Company Group will not disclose nor provide our customers’ personal information to third parties except in the following instances:

  • (a) if we obtained the prior consent or approval of the customer;
  • (b) if disclosure is requested under the laws and regulations, etc.;
  • (c) if it is required for the protection of a person’s life, body, or property, and obtaining the customer’s consent will be difficult;
  • (d) if it is required to improve public health or promote the healthy development of children, and obtaining the customer’s consent will be difficult;
  • (e) if cooperation with the national or regional authorities to carry out public administrative matters is required, and there will be a likelihood of interfering with the execution of such administrative matters by obtaining the customer’s consent;
  • (f) to jointly use in a joint business with a third party, upon giving notification of that effect in advance;
  • (g) to entrust the handling of personal information, in whole or in part, to a third party to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use listed in Section 4; and
  • (h) if the customer is notified of the following, or the following is placed in a location that is widely-accessible by our customers, in advance: (1) that the provision to a third party will be a purpose of use, (2) the items of personal information to be provided to a third party, (3) the means or method of provision to a third party, and (4) that the provision of personal information to a third party will be stopped if requested by the individual.

7. Disclosure, correction, deletion, addition, suspension of use, and removal

If we receive a request from a customer by the prescribed method for the (1) disclosure, (2) correction, addition, or deletion, or (3) suspension of use or removal, of the personal data retained by the Company Group (the personal data of which the Company Group is authorized to disclose, correct, delete, add, suspend use of, remove, or take other action, that has been retained for more than 6 months), we will confirm that the requestor is the individual and take the following actions within a reasonable period of time and scope. However, if (i) there is the likelihood of harming the life, body, or property of the individual or a third party, (ii) there is the likelihood of having a serious effect on the execution of the Company Group’s business, or (iii) it will otherwise violate the laws and regulations, we may not be able to comply with the customer’s request:

  • (a) we will respond to the request for disclosure of personal data;
  • (b) with respect to the correction, addition, or deletion of personal data, after confirming the contents of the request, we will respond to the request as necessary; and
  • (c) we will suspend the use of or remove the personal data. However, when making your request, please understand that, in relation to such suspension of use or removal, we will no longer be able to provide the services, etc. provided by the Company Group.

8. How to request disclosure or other action and the contact for inquiries

  • (b) Documents to be provided with your request

    If you wish to request the disclosure, correction, addition, removal, suspension of use, removal, or other action, please fill in the designated matters in the following request form, and send by mail (i) the form, (ii) the documents for verifying your identity, and (iii) a stamp (92 yen, which will be used for the response to your request). Please understand that we may not be able to respond to your request for disclosure or other action if there is any missing information.

    A copy of a driver’s license, passport, individual number (“my number”) card, certificate of health insurance card, basic resident register card with photo, pension book, certificate of the physically disabled, or alien registration card.

    • (1) Power of attorney (in the case of a statutory agent, a document to prove that the person is a statutory agent, e.g. family register (koseki touhon))
    • (2) Document to verify the identity of the proxy (a copy of a driver’s license, passport, individual number (“my number”) card, certificate of health insurance card, basic resident register card with photo, pension book, certificate of the physically disabled, or alien registration card)

    Please send by mail any documents required for the procedures to the Personal Information Customer Support. Please understand that sch documents will not be accepted at any of the Company Group’s theaters, shops and other outlets. The requestor will be responsible for any postage fees. The results of our response to your request will be sent by mail from the Company Group. Please enclose a 92 yen stamp for replying, together with the required documents. Please understand that we may not be able to comply with your request if the individual’s identity cannot be verified, if the statutory agent’s qualification cannot be proven, or if the statutory agent’s identity cannot be verified. Please also understand that we may not be able to comply with your request if there is any missing information that is required in the forms, or if any of the required documents are missing. Any documents that we obtain in relation to the request for disclosure or other action will only be used to the extent necessary to respond to your request, and will be disposed of within one month after we complete our response. We will notify you if we are unable to not disclose or otherwise make changes to the personal data, or if we are unable to suspend the use of or remove the personal data, together with the reason thereof.

  • 9. Joint use

    The Company Group will share our customers' personal information within the Company Group companies to the extent of the purposes listed in Section 4. In such instances, the Personal Information Officer and the contact for inquiries regarding our customers’ personal information will be as follows:

    10. Application and amendments to this Privacy Policy

    This Privacy Policy explains the handling of our customers’ personal information by the Company Group, and our customers who have provided personal information in connection with the services and products provided by the Company Group will be deemed to have fully understood and consented to the contents of this Privacy Policy. The Company Group may revise this Privacy from time to time.
